When I joined the POSN second camp, I learned new topics from highly skilled teachers, which was exciting and challenging. I knew this camp would be more complex and the content more advanced, so I prepared a lot by studying books related to the Academic Olympiad, like those from the British Mathematical Olympiad (BMO) and POSN, to be as ready as possible.
In the second camp, I learned new subjects I had never seen before, such as Functional Equations and Inequalities, which were quite different and complicated. I especially liked Functional Equations because they were fun and challenging, requiring quick thinking. However, my most complex subject was Combinatorics because it required deep understanding, tricky applications, and creative thinking.
The second camp had complex topics for preparing for higher levels, like the IPST camp. One of the interesting new topics in Combinatorics was Invariant and Monovariant, which needed a lot of analysis and a good understanding of what I had learned in the first camp.
For geometry in the second camp, although there wasn’t much new content, the problems were challenging and required creative thinking. Solving them, especially by finding Synthetic Solutions, needed a strong understanding of geometry and organized problem-solving.
This camp helped me improve my knowledge and skills a lot, not just in academics but also in thinking. It also prepared me well for higher-level competitions.
